COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The senior management for South Carolina’s incoming state schools superintendent will include his campaign manager and outgoing Gov. Mark Sanford’s chief of staff.

Superintendent Mick Zais announced Monday that Sanford aide Scott English will be his deputy superintendent for administration. English has been with Sanford’s office throughout his two terms.

Jay Ragley will be Zais’ chief spokesman. Before managing Zais’ campaign, Ragley was director of the state chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He’s also a former executive director of the state Republican Party.

Charmeka Bosket will be Zais’ deputy superintendent for policy. She was an education adviser to Sanford from 2005 to 2007.
