Midlands educators given top honors
COLUMBIA (WACH) — Two Midlands school officials picked up big honors this week.
At Spring Valley High School Thursday morning, Principal Dr. Greg Owings was named the South Carolina Principal of the year.
While Dr. Owings says he’s honored by the recognitions, it’s a team effort.
“I have ten administrators who do a wonderful job and my secretaries who keep track of me and read my handwriting and keep me straight, my faculty, the best in South Carolina, and our kids are wonderful,” Owings says.
The second surprise came at Dent Middle School.
Dean of Academics Dr. Robin Hardy was named South Carolina Middle School Principal of the year.
