Benedict preps students in financial responsibility
COLUMBIA (WACH) — Benedict College is giving soon to be graduates the tools they need to be financially responsible.
The school’s Business Development Center hosted a personal financial planning workshop Thursday.
The event focused on how graduates should begin their savings and investing habits as soon as they get a job.
“We have a lot of students that are first generation college students and maybe mom and dad or grandma didn’t know very much about money management or wealth creation, so we feel at the college and at the center that it’s important for us to give that base,” says Darlene Booth-Bell.
Students learned how to budget, establish and maintain credit and basic investment tips.
